Dear Brains Trust,
Suggestions are needed for somewhere for Mr M and I to have a wee holiday.
Preferably no more than half a days drive from Sincity. Coastal might be nice this time.
Doesn’t need to be a fancy destination. We’d be happy with a cabin in a caravan park.
He likes poking around antique shops and museums; and I like real coffee and trees.
Ideas anyone?

I say South Coast. Berry or Kiama or something near there. It's not far, and has some surprisingly nice spots to stay. Might be a bit densely populated, but that just means that there's plenty of antique shops to poke around in, and lots of places to go visit that aren't far from where you're staying.
i second Ali's suggestion, the south coast is gorgeous, pretty much from Wollongong to Melbourne... my favorite part though is around Tilba/Bermagui, which is about a 4/4.5 hour drive from Sydney. http://www.tilba.com.au/
