Info Pimp

"Libraries are brothels for the mind. Which means that librarians are the madams, greeting punters, understanding their strange tastes and needs, and pimping their books." Guy Browning (The Guardian column, www.guardian.co.uk 18 October 2003)

One of these things is worse than the other

Sing along folks!

40 Children's Librarians descend on my work place
Feral cold sores
Dog in for desexing
Baaad head cold
My Grandpa has a massive stroke and dies :-(
Work from home, with baaad head cold
Biggest event of my work year - 12 hr day juggling GM, Mayor, young writers', parental units, sponsors and VIPs.
Try to sort work end financial year budgets and fail
Ouchy periods
Fly to Brisvegas for funeral
Sore tooth
Sort belongings in Grandparents home
Grandmas hello = "You've put on weight" + "31 and not married yet. Oh dear" *sighs*
Budget hotel room not redecorated since the 70's. urk
Come back to freezing Sydney

And now for the good stuff!

Felt damn strong throughout the whole week or so.
Mr M has been an absolute mountain of strength, well of kindness and font of hugs and kisses for both me and the wee pup through this. *cue sound of heart bursting with joy*
Misses A and B deserve a 1000 thanks for puppysitting while we were away in sunny queensland
Oh and sunny hot dry queensland dried up the baaad head cold
Have a couple of extra days off work to wind down a bit
Dinner in the hospital restaurant "The Gown and Glove" :-)
Reading random papers and notes of my Grandpas' and learning more about his life. And sorting through his stuff. He was a crazy inventor who actually made money from a breakthrough invention. And his garage was full of clocks, electrical equipment, masking tape, more clocks, manuals for everything in the house, tools, paper and all this again times three. *phew*
Old brisbane sites bringing back a mish mash of memories: Toowong shopping village, LaBoite Theatre, Orient hotel, The Wickham, Roma St (where I must've lost at least 6 months of my life waiting for buses), and more.
Home from QLD to the joys of sth king st, our darlin' pup, and wednesday beers with friends at the Sly.
Buying a new teapot, and christening it with a cuppa and a chat with Miss A.
Perhaps that's all.
Perhaps there's more.
I'm going to go now and find somewhere in this city that is warm. Our little house is colder inside than it is out.
*shivers*

A thousand thanks to you for the brew you sent me home with! It's been my lifeline the past few days- the only thing that will settle my throat enough to eat, drink or talk without pain.
Hurrah for puppies and teapots and eccentric inventors- boo to the weeks from hell.
