Info Pimp

"Libraries are brothels for the mind. Which means that librarians are the madams, greeting punters, understanding their strange tastes and needs, and pimping their books." Guy Browning (The Guardian column, www.guardian.co.uk 18 October 2003)

What makes a good day?

If you walked into work and were told that you have 2 hours to get to a bookshop and spend a grand - would it be a miserable day at work?
I know this is gonna sound stupid - but this week I've been going nuts trying to spend thousands of dollars before the end of financial year - and I hate it.
I'm not a shopper by nature - and when I have to do it for work (even if I do love books) it still feels like work. Bloody shop assistant was happy though. Damn thing got all giggly on me.

Then the area where my collections are housed - which is a BRAND NEW floor of the building - sprung a leak. Gah!

Okay - am sounding like a whinger. So, some good things:
* Bookshop gave me a freebie for spending so much money there. So I got the latest of Alison Bechels' 'Dykes to watch out for'. Have spent the evening sitting on the couch snickering with laughter.
* I bought vegies and made a stir-fry, comfort food style. Yum.
* And, in the words of the wonderful Mr M; "Dunno whatcha got to worry about babe - you've still got all your teeth!"

In other news; Yesterday was weird. Huge day at work. Did a bit of piercing and cutting on a friend and then went to meet my man at the Sly. Sound system was stuffed and Sveta had a princess hissy because the babies were having a go thinking it was her fault.
Was exhausted by the time I jumped into my warm bed with Mr M at the end of the day.
